The session will focus on insurance denials and how we at UTSW are working to decrease them. At UTSW, a process was established whereby the accounts filing order is examined one day after the patient’s appointment, with an emphasis on identifying improper filing orders and automated eligibility response issues not identified by the registration team. This process aims to send a clean claim and reduce the amount of denials returned to the hospital. We utilized additional staff, in-depth reports, and teamwork to create a winning formula.
